A Diverse Northeast Circuit
A 9-day adventure combining mountain trekking in Usambara, endangered wildlife viewing in Mkomazi National Park (Rhino Sanctuary), and coastal exploration with historic cave visits near Tanga.
Days 1-5: Trekking & Rhinos
Days 1-3: Usambara Trekking
Three days of trekking through Magamba rainforest, traditional villages, pottery workshops, and Mtae View Point. Stay at local guesthouses.
Days 4-5: Mkomazi National Park
Transfer to Mkomazi. Two full days of game drives including the Rhino Sanctuary. Overnight at Elephant Motel in Same and Tembo Lodge.
Days 6-9: Caves & Coast
Day 6: Tanga City
Depart to Tanga. City tour including old German buildings. Overnight at Ocean Breeze Lodge.
Day 7: Amboni Caves
Explore the limestone Amboni Caves. Lunch in town then transfer to Pangani. Overnight at Beach Crab Resort.
Day 8: Pangani History
Explore Pangani historical town, visit 17th-century buildings and slave trade sites.
Day 9: Maziwe Island & Depart
Snorkeling adventure at Maziwe Island marine reserve. Departure.
