Based in Lushoto, we guide journeys through the Usambara Mountains, northeastern Tanzania and the coast.

Usambara Destination is a locally owned tour company based in Lushoto, in Tanzania’s Usambara Mountains.
We offer mountain hiking, wildlife safaris, coastal journeys, cultural experiences and visits to historical sites. Routes can begin in Usambara or connect the mountains with national parks and the coast.
Our aim is straightforward: share Tanzania thoughtfully, work with local knowledge, and keep every journey connected to the communities and landscapes it moves through.
From Irente to Usambara Destination
Meet Isack Sufiani.
Isack grew up at Irente Children’s Home on the slopes of the Usambara Mountains. His education was later supported by The Foundation for Tomorrow.
After years of guiding visitors through Tanzania, he founded Usambara Destination Eco Tours to connect travel with the landscapes, people and culture that shaped his own life.
Some of the company’s profits support Irente Children’s Home and environmental and community initiatives in the Usambara region.
